Program & poster finalized!
The program of the conference is finally set in stoned! Three days of conference papers by graduate students, professors, and freelance scholars, and live music and poetry performances! Check it out here. The highlights are:
Thursday, 12 September 2019, 7pm
Ed Sanders' keynote lecture "The Ups and Downs of Hippie, 1967–1969: Three Years in the Universe", which will be a combined reading, recitation, singing, exorcism, and analysis of key events in those years. This is followed by a poetry reading/performance by Anne Waldman (accompanied by Tyler Burba), a poetry reading by Andrew Shields, and a set of Grateful Dead cover songs by Dead Dreams, a band put together for this conference.
Friday, 13 September 2019, 7pm
Anne Waldman's keynote lecture entitled "Sixties Kinetics," followed by poetry readings by Ed Sanders and Tyler Burba and some songs from Tyler's last and upcoming albums, accompanied by Simon Truog (bass) and Dario Meier (drums).
